My calendar has been pretty booked chatting with the media about all these diets and answering client questions about what works and what doesn't! So if you need a little guidance, too, have no fear. I have to confess something first, though. The headline of this post, "What are the best fad diets?" is a trick question. Simply put, there are no best fad diets. When it comes to losing weight and keeping it off, your best bet is adopting lasting lifestyle changes.

I know this may not be what you want to hear. But my job isn't to gloss over the science and lie to you. My job is to help you get healthier in a way that's going to make you feel good and that's going to last.

Before we get into the diet advice you should follow, I'm going to tell you about the advice you should absolutely ignore. As a bride to be, I've been immersed in all things wedding lately. So some pretty scary weight-loss tactics mentioned in online bride groups got me very concerned, and that's why I wrote this article for Food Network.

 

Many of these strategies can put your health at risk, which is the opposite of what you're looking to accomplish with a weight-loss plan. While this post is wedding focused, the advice on weight-loss tips to skip applies to everyone!

When people ask me how to lose weight and keep it off, my answer is pretty simple: Eat a diet rich in lean proteins, healthy fats, veggies, fruit, and whole grains. It sounds pretty simple, right? Many folks are afraid of eating fatty foods, but the fact is they're good for you (when eaten in moderation!).
