Get ready to enjoy a delicious taste of fall flavors!
Hello, Pumpkin Protein Shake!
Since we're now past Labor Day, we're super close to Fall. And Fall is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it: the way the air feels, the switchover from sandals to boots, and the opportunity to eat anything and everything pumpkin flavored.
My love of pumpkin is why I decided to play around this morning and bring you this pumpkin pie in a cocktail glass! While the pumpkin spice smoothie is perfect for Fall, the pumpkin spice protein shake is also a delicious treat anytime of the year.
Each serving of the pumpkin protein smoothie provides 15 grams of protein, making it an excellent source of plant-based protein. This is thanks to the low-fat milk and almond butter. You don't need any Greek yogurt, almond milk, or vanilla protein powder to boost the protein in this pumpkin spice protein drink!
When I make smoothies, I typically use frozen banana. But the pumpkin in this pumpkin spice protein shake provides plenty of creaminess.
The pumpkin protein smoothie one of my favorite vegetarian recipes! If you'd like to make the smoothie vegan, you can swap out the dairy milk for almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk.
Benefits of Eating Pumpkin
The best part about eating pumpkin is how nutritious it is.
Pumpkin offers beta carotene, which is the precursor to vision-helping vitamin A. You also get filling fiber from pumpkin, as well as iron, a mineral that helps provide oxygen to your blood.
Important Pumpkin Smoothie Tip
When you're shopping for pumpkin puree, make sure to choose 100% pumpkin—and not pumpkin pie mix or pumpkin pie filling, which contains added sugar.
